So…I’ve been hoping to score some pallets at area garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets – the usual places you might look. I wasn’t having any luck and I’m kinda operating on a deadline here.
I’m getting ready to set up my booth/store space early next month and I want my husband to finish off a bookshelf that I painted with some pallet boards in the back.
So I resorted to the internet. Perhaps I could hunt them down on Craigslist. No luck. I even Googled pallet and found some places that sell them…for lots of money I might add.
I requested a catalog and figured that maybe I would just need to break down and purchase a few to get this project done.
But God had other plans. “You need pallets”? he said….”I’ve got pallets”.
The very next morning I was headed out around 10am to do some errands. I drove around the block and sitting there in front of someone’s house next to their garbage can (it was garbage day) were two pallets in beautiful condition.
(insert screeching brake noises here)
I stopped my car and without even skipping a beat opened my hatch and shoved those two pallets inside.
As I unloaded them from my car I almost half expected to see Jesus standing there with a big thumbs up like “Hey, you said you needed pallets, will these work?”.
You may call it coincidence. In fact that’s what most people refer to those experiences and situations that take us by surprise….almost as if they were intended for us.
Great news for your midweek slump – those little “coincidences” are for you direct from a loving God.
You may not believe that. And that’s fine, God will continue to drop little coincidences into your life to remind you how much He loves you and cares about every little detail of your life.
I think we have a hard time believing that God is behind those coincidences because at the root we doubt God’s goodness and His love for us. We think He’s too busy to care about the little things.
More good news….the very reason we think God doesn’t have time for us (because He’s too big) is the very reason that He does.
Next time a coincidence inserts itself into your day….
Don’t try to explain it away.
Don’t just brush it off as weird.
It’s a reminder of how much God loves you that He would have time to be in the details of your life.
I’d love to hear some of your “coincidences” feel free to comment or contact me!
Till the next time,
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
